E-Waste Collection Screening Tool

All campus electronic waste (e-waste) is recyclable! Recycling e-waste at UMBC is easy:

  1. Place a work order with Facilities asking for the student workforce to pick up your department’s e-waste. If the e-waste is inventoried and tagged, select “Inventory Disposal” on the ReADY system. If the e-waste is NOT inventoried and tagged, select “Setup & Moving” on the ReADY system.
  2. E-Waste items should be intact and should not have any materials leaking from them. If this occurs, please contact UMBC’s ESH Department.
  3. Use the quick tool below to decide if your e-waste can be recycled
  4.  An e-recycling drop off box will be available on the Commons Main Street starting in November 2024!

All UMBC e-waste is collected by Electronics Value Recycling
