In celebration of Campus Sustainability Month, the Office of Sustainability will be hosting a few webinars to highlight different practitioners in the field of sustainability.

We are excited to announce that we will be hosting a webinar with UMBC alumni Emily Frias from the Chesapeake Climate Action Network (CCAN) to discuss the current climate action work the organization is working on. She will also share internship opportunities and how students can get involved with CCAN!

Emily Frias has worked for Chesapeake Climate Action Network since 2018 as the Maryland Grassroots Coordinator on clean energy and net-zero campaigns. A Baltimore native, Emily is especially interested in environmental justice issues, and studied Economics and Geography at UMBC. Emily previously served as a Legislative Secretary in the Maryland General Assembly in the office of Mary Washington, and as a Field Canvasser for Clean Water Action, fundraising and mobilizing grassroots energy on a range of campaigns.
