Earth Week is Here!

Exciting events and programs are all week long!

We cant wait to see you at our Earth Week events! Join us in celebrating the Earth and our work to protect it from Monday (today!) 4/21, to Friday 4/25.

Monday's Bird Box Painting, 11am on the Commons Quad, is an activity that will bring together the artists and the bird nerds to create beautiful bird boxes that provide nesting habitats for songbirds in our area. You can even take one home for your backyard!

Tuesday's Earth Day Fair (11am on the Commons Quad) will feature Environmental and Sustainability advocates from on campus and throughout the Greater Baltimore community to showcase the awesome work they are doing and engage passersby in activities relating to their advocacy. We will also have some on-campus small business to support. Play our Bingo game by visiting each table on your card to win a prize!

Wednesday's Clothing Swap begins at 11am on the Commons Quad- clean out your closet and bring a bag of unwanted, gently used garments to swap with others. We hope you find your new favorite fashion piece!

Thursday's 'Price is Right" Trivia at 2pm in Flat Tuesdays offers the chance for you to show off your knowledge of sustainability and environmental impacts with the chance to win some awesome prizes - such as a Lego Botanicals set, Herb growing kit, and more!

Fridays' "Retriever Root Up" at 11am by the Library Pond returns from last year as our most popular hands-on event for students, faculty, and staff to help remove invasive plants from a green space by the library pond. This event is being held by the Eco-Ambassadors with support from the Environmental Task Force and the UMBC Game Development club.  We will be focusing on removing invasive plants from the grove across the stream from the library in order to promote the return of native species, prevent trees from being smothered, and to foster a more diverse habitat for wildlife. This event requires sign up!
