CSN Chesapeake Urban Stormwater Professionals
UMBC's Sustainbility Office was invited to participate in the Chesapeake Stormwater Network's (CSN) first cohort for the Chesapeake Urban Stormwater Professionals (CUSP) program. Our Sustainability Coordinator, Claire Runquist, and our Director, Ryan Kmetz, both earned the certification. The Sustainability Office encourages any interested students, faculty, or staff to reach out to them to learn more about the program and how then can apply to the next cohort.
About Chesapeake Urban Stormwater Professionals (CUSP) Program
CUSP is a free, new professional training program from the Chesapeake Stormwater Network! The core of the program is a 14-part webcast “curriculum” that introduces the basic impacts of stormwater runoff and how they can be reduced or mitigated by stormwater and urban watershed restoration practices. These “basics” are an important prerequisite for many environmental jobs in our network but are seldom taught in most undergraduate or graduate programs.
About the Chesapeake Stormwater Network
The Chesapeake Stormwater Network helps align and integrate the efforts of thousands of individuals working on stormwater management across the Chesapeake Bay region and around the world. It’s FREE to join the network and become the first to be notified of newly developed technical resources, free training opportunities, statewide regulatory updates and Chesapeake Bay Program stormwater alerts.
