In celebration of Campus Sustainability Month, the Office of Sustainability will be hosting a few webinars to highlight different practitioners in the field of sustainability.
Join us Thursday October, 15th from 3:30-4:30 pm to discuss bird ecology with Wildlife Technician Tim Demers. Below is a little more information on our speaker.
Tim Demers is a Wildlife Technician with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, and he has worked in the wildlife field since 2006. Tim earned a bachelor’s degree in Wildlife Science from State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry (SUNY ESF), and a master’s of science degree in Sustainable Development and Climate Change from Antioch University New England. He has experience in the private, non-profit, and government sectors working a wide variety of projects from construction site monitoring in the Mojave Desert, to work on Spotted Owl demography in the Sierra Nevada mountains. His work with DEC includes waterfowl banding, Peregrine Falcon monitoring, habitat management, and surveying for species of concern for solar and wind energy projects in northern New York.
