  • Sample some freshly grown organic treats under the shade of the permaculture food forest.
  • Meet students interested in the outdoors and living green.
  • Learn about greening efforts on campus (such as campus trails, a fee bike share, and more!), along with ways to volunteer and groups to join.
  • Ask questions and share ideas about topics like gardening, hiking, recycling, renewable and sustainability in our community.
Agenda: - Introductions - Story of how the garden was created by students - Sustainability at UMBC and why it matters; how to get involved - Training and prep the day's volunteering activities and tour of garden and permaculture food forest - Spend the rest of the time doing a volunteer activity(s) for the garden while listening to music, getting to know each other, and sharing questions and ideas about greening the campus.
