Collegetown Underground 2021: Environmental Justice

DIVE DEEP into your city. Register today!

UMBC Students – did you know that there’s a one-day virtual program where you can deeply connect with Baltimore - learn about its history, culture, issues, and leaders?

In its sixth year, Collegetown Underground is a focused, immersive opportunity for college students to explore the Baltimore area outside the classroom. This program seeks students who are civic-minded and want to learn more about the Baltimore region.

Every year the Underground series chooses an area of focus and this year it is environmental justice. Collegetown Underground Environmental Justice will introduce college students to environmental issues experienced across the Baltimore region. 2020 shed light on two pandemics – COVID-19, plus existing health disparities, and systemic racism. Environmental injustice exacerbates both of these pandemics.

Join other students from around the city for an opportunity to meet the Greater Baltimore organizations working toward the fair treatment of protection from environmental and health hazards and equal access to a healthy environment.

Underground 2021: Environmental Justice will take place virtually on Saturday, February 6th, 2021 at 1:00 PM.

Registration for this event is required and closes January 25th. To register and find out more information please visit:
