Hosted by the JHU Sustainability Leadership Council, this event seeks to bring together practitioner and community voices from the Baltimore City to discuss the intersection of social justice and climate/environmental concerns.

In the past several months, the topic of systematic racism has, once again, been brought to the forefront of national discourse. In light of recent, publicized instances of police brutality as well as the countless health inequities highlighted by the global pandemic, it is evident that we are in the midst of a tremendous opportunity for impactful dialogue and change.

On Tuesday September 29th, from 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM, the SLC will be hosting its fall event, a virtual Environmental Justice Panel Discussion. Moderated by Dr. Genee Smith of the School of Public Health, this event will highlight four panelists active in Baltimore City environmental justice efforts.

Dante Swinton | Divert Baltimore Program Coordinator, Environmental Justice Researcher & Organizer; Energy Justice Network

Linda Batts | Director of Equity; Baltimore City Government

Glenn Ross | Director; Urban Environmental Toxic Tour
