Welcome to our 2019-20 Eco-Ambassadors!

The Office of Sustainability Welcomes Our Newest Eco-Ambassadors!

Erin K. :  "I am a sophomore studying Cognitive Science and minoring in Spanish. I am a member of the Sondheim Public Affairs Scholars Program as well as the Student Coordinator for Walking Discovery through the Shriver Center and the president of the Legal Empowerment branch of Global Brigades. I have been passionate about sustainability, particularly the environmental aspect, ever since I was little, and I'm very excited to be working as an Eco-Ambassador!"

Erin is working with campus stakeholders to improve waste diversion and increase composting.

Dakota B.: "I am a senior majoring in chemical engineering (sustainability and environmental engineering track) and pursuing a certificate in Spanish studies. I have been a member of The Garden at UMBC since my first year here, and I have been a co-president since 2018. My interest in gardening and everything nature-related started from a young age. Now I look forward to continuing my passion and making progress towards a more sustainable UMBC as an Eco-Ambassador!"

Dakota's work is focused on bringing together a collaborative coalition of UMBC student organizations that have an interest in the environment.
