Grow veggies: adopt a plot in UMBC's Community Garden

Spring is around the corner! Register for a plot in UMBC's community garden!

The garden was built by students for anyone in the UMBC community (faculty, staff or students) to have access to raised beds with fertile soil to grow in. There is a tool shed with basic tools for use, and there will be volunteer days and workshops to learn about gardening.

Whether you want to register as part of a student org, a class, with your office mates, or just on your own, the garden plots have been cleared and are ready for you to adopt and plant in. It's up to you what to do with your harvest!

Joining the email list or registering for a plot are good ways to get involved with the garden.

The garden is run by a student group with the support and oversight of an array of campus partners including Facilities Management, HR Wellness Initiative, Student Life, and the Shriver Center. It was built with funding from the SGA Prove-it Grant competition as a space to foster community, nutrition, learning, innovation and sustainability.
