Tips for Creating a Carpool

1) After finding other carpoolers from your area on the Casual Carpooling myUMBC group, establish initial contact via e-mail and phone.

2) Once you've made initial contact, set up a time and place to meet in person to talk about the following questions:

• How often would you like to carpool?
• Who wants to drive and how often?
  
• What will be the meet up/pickup time and place for both ends of the commute?
  

• Choose a start date.
  
• Verify each other's driver's license, red UMBC ID, car insurance, and vehicle
• Discuss everyone's expectations of carpool etiquette (see the attachment).
