The Office of Sustainability is proud to bring you a special winter edition of Wellness Wednesday with our Welcoming Winter Wreath DIY Upcycle Project! We invite you to join us on 12/8 from 12-1 p.m. to make the perfect winter welcoming wreath for your door! This wreath project is made of materials that you normally trash or recycle. We will walk you through, step-by-step, the basics for making your own; however, there are countless other additions you can add to this project to personalize it to your aesthetic!

What you will need to make the wreath:
  • A pair of scissors
  • Material for the base of your wreath, we suggest using a metal hanger. if you don't have a metal hanger you can make the base with cardboard as well.
  • Plastic bags (For a Large Wreath, ~12-14" diameter, 50-100 bags | Small wreath, ~6-8" diameter, 25-50 bags)
  • Some sort of adhesive (glue, tape or string) to add additional decorations

What you can add to personalize your wreath:
  • Pinecones
  • Ribbons
  • Bells and so many more!

If you register for a workshop and your attendance plans change, please email hrtraining@umbc.edu.
