Description
Join us to learn how you can get involved with our residential compost program! This program is open to all students who live on campus. Students will be provided with instructions and all of the equipment needed to collect their compostable materials (a compost bucket, compostable bags, etc.). Make sure you touch base with your roommate, because you will need their support to participate in this program.
A survey in Spring 2022 shared to the UMBC community indicated that 100% of respondents were interested in seeing more composting opportunities on campus!
Why compost? Composting reduces waste, helps to minimize landfill use, and helps to decrease greenhouse gas emissions. ~40% of UMBC's waste could be composted. It's a great way to reduce your impact and help support UMBC's Climate Action Plan.
