Join us for two weeks of citizen science and exploring campus biodiversity with a BioBlitz!
On Wednesdays Oct 7th and 14th, OoS will host a group bioblitz outing to go out as a group to make as many observations as possible in an hour. Users with the most observations and the greatest number of observed species will be awarded prizes at the end of the event! Meet us at the library pond at 12pm both Wednesdays to participate!
Download the iNaturalist app and use this link to join the UMBC project - or search "UMBC Bioblitz 2026" to get started! Then, any observation you make on campus will contribute to scientific research, helping to understand migration patterns, plant blooming seasons, insect behavior, and more! The iNaturalist BioBlitz project is open from Monday Oct 5th to Friday Oct 16th, with group blitz events on both Wednesdays.
