The Resilence @ UMBC Mapper and National Risk Index Dashboard are two information tools designed to help the UMBC community better understand the implications of climate change. Specifically, these tools address the risks and associated impacts, of climate change, on communities and the capabilities of communities to adapt and recover. Both tools use the most recently published data sets to visually and quantitatively communicate topics of climate risk and resilience. Additionally, these tools are designed to be used in conjunction with the Environmental Justice datasets. As more datasets become available the Office of Sustainability will update the tools. Future information updates (anticipated in 2022) include updated campus tree inventory, campus tree cover climate change risk, and climate impacts on campus accessibility routes.
